Owls on Oak Street Chicago

Enjoy an artful afternoon on Oak Street!

The Oak Street District invites you to Owls on Oak, a public art installation featuring paintings by the students of Ogden International School of Chicago on Thursday, May 17.  The paintings, which feature the students’ interpretations of their school’s mascot the Owl, will be hung in the trees along Oak Street, creating a charming tableau to be enjoyed by shoppers and neighbors alike.  Throughout the afternoon there will be performances by the Ogden school choir, who will rove the block of Oak Street between Michigan Avenue and Rush Street delighting guests with their sweet songs.

In celebration of Owls on Oak, from 4pm until 7pm on May 17 many Oak Streets shops and restaurants will offer family-friendly treats such as juice boxes, fruit skewers, cotton candy and, for adults, wine and champagne.

Owls on Oak is also the official kickoff event for the Oak Street Wine Stroll, an evening series held on the third Thursday of the summer months during which guests enjoy drinks and extended shopping hours at select Oak Street shops.

Although the paintings will only be on display outside for one day, guests will have the opportunity to view paintings inside several Oak Street District businesses on Oak Street, Rush Street and Walton Street for weeks leading up to and following May 17.
